13-14 Nov 2019– Science meeting at IUCAA, followed by
15-16 Nov 2019– Board meeting
The SALT Science Meeting will be held at IUCAA, Pune, while the SALT Board Meeting will take place at Della Resorts, Kunegaon near Lonavala, Dist. Pune (located approximately 50 km near Pune).
Accommodation during the SALT Science Meeting will be arranged at the IUCAA Guest House and all local transport arrangements will be taken care of during this visit.
A few rooms at Della Resorts with special room rates have been booked for the SALT Board Meeting participants for the nights of 14 and 15 November 2019. You are kindly requested to settle the hotel bill at the reception desk of Della Resorts before your departure. The room rate will be about USD 150 per night.
Our basic plan is to arrive at the resort on 14th evening pre-dinner, after the Science Meeting is over, and to have the Board Meeting all day on the 15th, continuing till 16th lunch time or soon after. People can then leave for Pune (1 hr away) or Mumbai airports (2.5 hours away) directly from this venue, or come back to IUCAA.
The FAC meeting will be held on 14 November late afternoon.
IUCAA will take care of the transport, all the meals at the venue, conference facilities and other logistics. We would ask the individuals to pay for the hotel rooms.
For non-Indian nationals, we strongly recommend that a Business E-Visa (on arrival) be applied for from https://www.evisaindian.in/check-requirements
stating that the participant is coming for a “business meeting” or “board meeting”
(NOT a conference or workshop). The word “conference” in any correspondence or on arrival often triggers additional complications since there is a separate category of “conference visa”, typically meant for a very large number of participants.
