A block of rooms has been reserved at the Wisconsin Union Hotel on campus:

Meeting attendees may reserve rooms at the Wisconsin Union Hotel at the meeting rate of $157 per night (+ 2.6% tax) any time before April 30, 2019, by calling the Hotel at (608) 263-2600 and mentioning the SALT Board Meeting, or by visiting https://union.wisc.edu/hotel and making a reservation using the block code SALT. Parking for one vehicle beneath Union South is included with each reservation.

The Board meeting itself will be held at the Discovery Building (https://discovery.wisc.edu/)  which is across the street from the hotel.

There are direct flights into Madison from most of the major hubs.  However, there are no direct flights between Dulles (Washington, DC) or JFK (NYC).  We generally fly to and from South Africa through one of the European hubs (London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt), which requires two stops or through Atlanta which is only one-stop, at least to JNB.
